Honeycomb and Pleated Blinds In Suffolk
What Is The Difference Between Pleated And Honeycomb Blinds?
Pleated blinds are made from a single layer of fabric folded into crisp, even pleats. They have a light, streamlined appearance and fold into a compact stack when opened, allowing an unobstructed view out of the window.
A wide selection of colours, patterns and transparencies is available. Light-filtering fabrics soften daylight and reduce glare, while more opaque options provide greater privacy. Selected fabrics are available with a reflective coating to help manage heat and glare in bright rooms.
Honeycomb blinds contain two or more layers of fabric joined to form enclosed cells. They are also known as cellular blinds, with both terms describing the same fabric construction.
The pockets of air within the cells create an additional insulating layer between the room and the glass. On suitable models, the operating cords run inside the fabric, creating a clean finish and reducing visible pinholes. Light-filtering, room-darkening and blackout options are available.
Both styles can be used with free-hanging or tensioned systems, depending on the chosen product. This makes them suitable for standard windows as well as roof glazing, angled windows and other specialist applications. We can help you compare the fabrics and fitting options before recommending the most suitable blind for your room.
We supply made-to-measure blinds from Nantmor, Luxaflex® and Coulisse. This gives us access to a broad choice of fabrics, fitting systems and controls, including our best-selling VS2 Slide Comfort. Our free home consultation includes expert advice, accurate measuring and professional installation throughout Suffolk.
Slide Comfort: Our Best-Selling Blind
The Nantmor VS2 Slide Comfort boasts a slim appearance, flexible positioning and smooth operation. It is particularly well suited to bi-fold doors, patio doors and large areas of modern glazing.
The blind fits close to the glass within discreet side profiles. These profiles guide the rails as they move, helping the fabric remain aligned with the pane.
Slide Comfort has slim operating bars without projecting handles. This allows the blind to sit neatly against folding or sliding doors without getting in the way of adjoining panels.
Although it is a popular choice for doors, Slide Comfort is equally effective on standard windows.
Choose The Right Fabric For Your Room
Slide Comfort can be made with a pleated fabric for a lightweight appearance and a broad choice of colours, patterns and transparency levels.
It is also available with a honeycomb or cellular fabric. The enclosed structure provides additional insulation and conceals the internal cords on suitable models.
We will show you samples of the available fabrics and explain how their colour, transparency and backing will affect the light within your room.
Top-Down And Bottom-Up Positioning
One of Slide Comfort’s most useful features is its top-down and bottom-up operation. Both rails can be moved, allowing you to position the blind across the part of the glass where it is needed. You could cover the lower section for privacy while leaving the top clear for daylight.
You can also reposition the blind as the direction of the sun changes. This offers more precise control over glare and shade than a blind that only opens from one direction.
When fully open, the fabric compresses neatly between the two rails.
Why Choose Slide Comfort?
- Smooth top-down and bottom-up operation
- Flexible light and privacy control
- Slim operating rails
- No projecting handles
- No hanging operating cords or chains
- Discreet side profiles fitted close to the glass
